Cook thoroughly to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F as measured by a food thermometer. Since cooking appliances vary, these instructions are guidelines only. Stove Top: Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil, add the edamame in small handfuls at a time, boil for about 4-5 minutes, and drain the edamame. Cool prior to serving. Microwave: Put the edamame in a glass bowl with a small amount of water. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and microwave on high for 2 minutes or until tender. Cool prior to serving.
